Great Trip to Key West

We just finished a great trip to Key West. With some guidance from Kokomo36, we changed our arrival date by a few days to improve our chances of getting a FHU spot and it worked out. "Thanks Roger." The camp hosts and MWR office folks were all professional and helpful. We stayed at the Indian casino near Homestead on the way down but the weather was already getting too warm to dry camp for our taste so on the way out we stayed at a PPA park in Homestead (Boardwalk) for $22 a night. Spot was a little tight, but for one night it worked. Very close to BJ's for fuel in the morning. At Key West, the snow birds were clearing out but one thing that impacted the FHU sites at Sigsbee was that dry camping at Trumbo was being closed on 30 April. Some of those that had dry camped at Trumbo all winter were moving over to Sigsbee as spots opened up. If I make a future trip next spring, I think I'd go a little later in May or June and let the snow bird migration finish and the Trumbo closing impact to run it course. The Sunset Lounge is an amazing place to get something to eat and an adult beverage. Everyone we talked to at Sigsbee thought it was a special place and we agree.
