We visited BLORA in Jan 8-9 and Feb,23 - Mar,5 2014, we love that place, very scenic, lots of wildlife, hikes, lots to do in the area. We also checked out the FamCamp at Ft Hood, I would not camp there as the spaces are very crowded, like a parking lot.

We also camped at Joint Base San Antonio, Canyon Lake, Jan 10-21, and again from Feb,3-23 loved that place also, will be going there again.

Last but not least was NAS at Corpus Christi, stayed there from Jan 21-Feb 3, also enjoyed that CG, will also go back.

Due to the strange weather we had very cold days at all of the above, but you can't change mother nature.

Thanks for the info. If you haven't already, you might wish to write a "review" for each of these visits. Go look at each campground's information page on this website. You'll see a "write review" button near the top and again at the bottom before the reviews.

Thanks!

The FamCamp is located on a separate piece of the installation called West Fort Hood. You must have been assigned to the sardine section. There is a newer section of the CG that has pull thru's with some elbow room. Even so, it is not as nice a Blora.
