TOO MANY POP-UP ADS SPOIL AN OTHERWISE GREAT RESOURCE FOR VETERANS

There was a time when a veteran could use this website and find and contribute to the information gathered here without all of the constant pop-ups and ad interruptions that now appear. It's nearly impossible to use the site without distraction by pop-ups. This means that the site owner is profiting, yet still asking for donations for the site. WTH? What happened to the "service" offered here? I am very irritated by the barrage of ads.

Hmm.....I send Larry a little donation once a year and I do not get pop-ups when I am logged onto this site. Ads, donations, and selling the stand alone Military Campgrounds program are ways to defray the cost of equipping, maintaining, and paying for the hosting of this site. I doubt there is a lot of "profit" in it but even if there is some I do not begrudge anything Larry might make for his time and efforts. Get off the dime and send him a little something and the pop-ups MIGHT go away. You must admit that this is absolutely the most current and thorough information you can find ANYWHERE on military camping facilities.

The pop-ups are somewhat irritating but not overwhelming. What I can’t find is a way to get updated info on the site particularly having to do with rates and site specific info. What am I missing?

I don't like the ads either. However, the advertisements, donations and sales of the Directory software are what is paying the bills to keep this website free. The alternative is for users to pay a monthly or annual fee, which I've been trying to avoid.

There's not a specific report of every change (update) that's made to the listings. There is an option to see those campgrounds that were recently updated, but not what was updated. I make about a dozen updates a week as I'm made aware of the changes (prices, phone numbers, etc.). The information shown on a campground listing page is the most current information I have available.

I tolerate the ads for the great resource we have. If I find updated info on campgrounds, I send Larry an email and he quickly updates the site. I find this site a great starting point to help me find camping. It's not the only one. Keep up the great work Larry.

MPPhillips. WTH are you talking about? No pop ups for me. You might want to make a donation and also be grateful for the work Larry is doing.
