Re: Garmin GPS

I downloaded the Garmin POI database and installed it in my Garmin Nuvi 245LM. During the installation process I received an error message stating there was a data format error on line 248. The message indicated all data before line 248 would be written, but data after line 248 could not be read.

I thought maybe the data gremlins attacked during the download process, so did a second download. Again during the installation process got the same error message.

Is this download usable?

I looked in the file and did find a couple errors in the coordinates. I made the corrections and uploaded the new file. However, I have no way of testing it.

I just tried to download the Garmin GPS files and got the same error. For the comma separated file I got the error on line 184 and on the .gpx file it was line 246

I have the same issue with the Garmin GPX file, get a data format error on line 246 of file Garmin_POI_data base.gpx

I no longer support or update the GPS data files. There's too many data formats used by GPS' and I no longer have the ability to test them. I've left them on the website for users to download and edit themselves.
