I'll have to be honest and say the good with the not-so-good. The good - The location is safe on the Air Force Reserve base. I am retired military and enjoyed seeing the different aircraft on the base. If you have business in the Moreno Valley or Riverside area, this is a good location. There are many stores, restaurants, and gas stations located right outside the gate. There is a nice commissary nearby. It is also outside the gated area. The not-so-good - The RV park seems to be an afterthought for the base. I don't really understand this because they are pulling in money from the campers. It's more or less like nobody really cares what kind of shape the park is in. I get the feeling the management believes that campers can take it or leave it. If you don't like it, you are free to go somewhere else. Although this is true, it's not a great reflection on the management. My tips for prospective campers - Take one of those hose-end insect control sprays with you. Spray your entire campsite before you park. There are gobs of ants. I pointed this out to the on-site manager once I noticed ants both outside and inside of my rig. He said, "Well, use some Raid or something." Hey, thank you for your service! The grass and weeds are pretty high. Does any landscape maintenance go on here? I had problems with the water hose bibs. I could not get them to stop dripping no matter what I did. The problem is that the threads were worn out. I wonder if the on-site manager has ever looked at stuff like this. Does the manager submit work orders for maintenance? It sure doesn't look like it. This famcamp may have been nice once upon a time. Now, it's a run-down relic of a place. All in all, it was not a good experience for my wife and I. The best part about it was leaving. Is that too harsh? Sorry, it's true. I will not be back.

Absolutely nothing special about this famcamp. Very small place. The laundromat is fairly clean, machines are $1.00 each. Clean site with plenty of room. Some homesteading going on. The view it terrible. It overlooks a storage lot with mostly abandoned/junked vehicles. Watch out for the squirrels, they climb up inside your vehicle engines.  One guy has two little dogs and he walks them several times a day but never cleans up after them. Never used the bathrooms. Overall I guess it's just ok.

Good luck getting a decent site. We visit a few times a year and see that this famcamp has become a trailer park for those working on base. The nice back ins are taken up by about 15 or so full timers. That leaves a few sites on the asphalt with no tables, just plug ins or the narrow, rocky pull thrus in the middle. Management needs to follow the rules and take better care of this famcamp so all military have access to it. Ants are also a big problem.

VERY poorly run RV park. We had problems day after day. First night was spent in dry camp with a promise of a site the next day. We got to the office at 9:30 am and they had already filled the available sites. Spent another night in dry camp with the promise of a site the NEXT day. Next day came, we paid for the site, but our site had a trailer in it with the owner no where to be found. The office had to locate the person. We had plans in the area, so they PROMISED they'd get the guy out and our spot would be available when we returned in the evening. Got back at 10:30 pm and darned if they hadn't given the site to someone else! The office closes at 4:30 and they're supposed to give all their communications to the Inn when they close but there is NO communication between the two. BAD experience for us from start to finish. We won't be back. Also, the office currently has no frequent camper books available for purchase.

we stayed for two days in the parking lot hook up area. It worked for what we needed but I wont be back. We arrived in evening and had to go to the inn to check in. Only able to pay for one day. Then next morning had some less then friendly gentleman tell us if we wanted to stay had to go pay now, camp was filling up. ummm... had to chase him down and ask where the heck to pay at! Pros: location, very level. Cons: homesteaders (it one thing if you have reservations but to not offer res. and be constantly full?), no host, strange check in process (its 3/4 mile away at the rec center) , no internet access, need long hose to reach water, no cable, and NOTHING for kids.

This FamCamp has a HomeSteader subculture. While they tell you that you can only stay two weeks and then you have to get out and get in line -- on a first-come, first-served basis, it turns out that the quasi-homesteaders are able to go into the MWR office early and pre-pay for a specific site. I was forced to move from a site after I had already gotten set up, even though there was another open site, because one of the homesteaders said I was in "his" site. It wasn't good enough that there was another site available -- I was in "his" site that he had pre-paid for earlier in the week. I left. If MARB wants to make this a homestead campground, fine...just tell us ahead of time so we don't waste our time.
