now is when I need it. Later it will only go to further enrich the old folks home the kids pour me into because someone took away my driver's license.

Right Glenn -- at 78, it's probably someone else that will be spending it "in my best interest?" of course.

Stagecoach,

Yer right. I get a retirement check from from my years as an employee of the state of Oklahoma. I also get a retirement check from the Navy due to 27 years active/reserve time which started at age 60, right after I retired from my state job. In a little over a year (at age 62) I'll start receiving a SS check. My wife, who is already past 62, receives a SS check and her retirement from Oklahoma, since she was also a state employee. Right now, even before I'm eligible for SS, we have more income than when we were both working.

I love this country even more, it's good to see someone that actually did something to deserve a break catching a break.
