J.K. left this review using the Directory software: This campground is everything that everybody says it is and more! All sites are level, concrete pull-throughs, with full hookups. Sites are well spaced apart and easy to get in and out of, with plenty of room for even the biggest rigs. The bathhouse is clean and well maintained, as are the grounds. Not many trees though, and it's in the 90's this week. My AC is getting a good workout! Ft Sam Houston is about 15 minutes away from all the downtown attractions. Parking downtown is the biggest problem. Rates in the parking lots average around $10-$12 for the day. The CG itself is only about half full right now, and it seems like there are some long-term campers here. A school bus dropped off a bunch of kids this afternoon...LOL I don't know what the circumstances are, but from the age of the kids I would think they are dependents of Active duty soldiers. There is a multi-billion construction project going on here that is probably going to last for another year or two. One part of the project is building a bridge over the river to deal with the flooding several others have mentioned. Many of the roads on post are closed, and traffic is being detoured around construction sites. The Holbrook Road gate in the directions was closed at 4 today and will NOT re-open. The Staff recommends that if you're heading here to call them when you're about an hour away and they will give you directions to the RV park based on what's open that day. I would definitely stay here if I am ever in this area again.
