Review Detail

Stayed for 2 days. Sites are great: roomy, concrete pads, full hookups. Staff are great - very friendly and helpful. Suggested we call before arrival for directions which were needed because the main road from the base proper is still flooded and not repaired. The post has opened and staffed a back gate which only provides entrance to the RV Park (seems like it would be cheaper to get the road fixed and use the main gate?). Trains were still there, but we didn't find them as bad as some places, although our site was as far from the tracks as possible. Staff advise that they are still working on getting wifi and that it has been given a high priority by the command. No diesel fuel is available on base. Although we only stayed a short time and didn't use many base facilities, "Ft. Sam" seems to have it all.
