A lot of our guests (I am one of the campground hosts) make an issue of the size of our base exchange and commissary. One must take into account that NAS Corpus Christi is a small base so the size of everything on base is geared to that size and for our permanent party, the commissary and exchange are adequate to their needs. The FAMCAMP will be growing [20 additional sites are to be constructed (we are keeping our fingers crossed regarding this) and the possibility exists that MWR will acquire twenty-eight sites that were for park model RVs] during the next year and as our size grows unfortunately, everything else on base will remain the same. So I guess that this complaint about our commissary and NEX will surface again. We can live with that but for those of you who need things in a super-size, there are three Wal Marts and a Sams Club within ten miles and all up and down South Padre Island Drive are fine places where you can shop-til-you drop. The fishing piers are open and being used daily by dozens of people [recently a lady caught a forty-one inch, thirty-five pound black drum. Our guests take advantage of the sites and attractions in and around Corpus Christi and our welcome mat is out for all RVers who wish to stop by. So why don't all of you out there steer yourselves toward our little park during 2008 and check us out. You won't regret it.
