This is one of the best laid out RV parks we've ever stayed at. Big, flat, concrete pull-through sites with lots of space between sites (rare!). The park is exceptionally clean with the grounds perfectly manicured. The park is on Ft Sam property and protected by military police, a big plus for a park in the center of a city. The park is in a park-like setting close to a railroad track. The sound of the train itself traveling is not a problem, BUT, the locomotive diesel horns start about 4 AM and will jolt you out of bed if you're not used to it. The trains run very frequently in the wee hours for several hours and they all use the loud diesel horn going past the park. We did have a problem with the staff here. Without notice, the water was turned off one morning. We called the office and the lady there did not know anything about it. We asked her to please check on it and call us back or let us know how long the water would be off. She never called back or contacted us. We walked the park until we found workmen digging next to an RV. There was a leak and they had accidently broken a valve trying to fix it. We called the office to inform them of what we found and the lady was quite indignant--not good. Not sure if this is an isolated problem with the park staff or whether they routinely ignore customer problems. The result of this situation was that the unannounced water turn off caused damage to our water heater. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident and the lady in the office was having a bad day. It does not, however, excuse ignoring park customer problems. San Antonio itself is a big mess right now--construction EVERYWHERE, traffic on major highways (I-35, Loop 410, etc) is a NIGHTMARE. Once downtown however, the riverwalk and surrounding area is a wonderful and delightful, must-do experience.
