This is a very nice facility that in my opinion rates at the top. Wes and Ted are excellent hosts. Wes led us to our site, directed me backing in, and then sat with us at our picnic table while we completed our sign-in paperwork. He gave us a lot of nice to know info about the base and Charleston as well as maps, etc. We were extremely impressed with the level concrete pads that allowed us plenty of room to back our 32' 5th wheel to the back of the pad leaving lots of room to park our F-350 crew-cab/long bed dually in front of the RV with room to spare. All the pads are like the one we occupied, whether back-in or drive-through. The pads also have a nice extension with new medal type picnic tables that are very nice. There is plenty of room between spots so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbors. The roads leading in and out of the park as well as through the park are paved, in excellent repair, and plenty wide. As others have stated the bathrooms are extremely clean with what looks like stainless steel sinks, urinals, commodes, etc. Showers are large with seats for those that need them. The washers and dryers are located in same bldg and are new ($1.25 wash and $1.25 dry). The commissary and exchange are next to each other and well stocked. Retiree's can use the dining facility. Note: our GPS attempted to route us to the front gate which will not allow RV entry. Be sure to go through the back gate which is also close to the campground. We took the Aviation Avenue exit (211) and then followed signs to the base. Be sure to watch for the sign on the right advising RV's to go through the X-Ray machine drive-through. If you miss it you will be required to turn around and go back. Again, a really great experience!
