Fabulous campground! SO clean and well-maintained, and a very good use of a fairly small space. The campground hosts were incredibly helpful and enforced all the rules to keep everyone in line. Do keep in mind that sites are assigned based on power needs. If you are in a smaller RV or pop-up, then expect to be placed in a 30-amp spot. The 50-amp spots are reserved for the larger Class A's and 5th wheels/trailers who need the extra power to run A/C. I saw a few people get upset about this so be forewarned. Although reservations are not accepted, you can call the morning of your planned visit to see if there is availability. This is especially important if you have a large RV as the spots are all back-ins and can be a little tight for bigger rigs. Laundry is dirt-cheap: 50 cents to wash and the same to dry. There is a paved trail right by the campground that makes about a 3-mile loop through a nature area for biking or walking. It connects with more paved trails that will take you almost anywhere on base. The gym, BX and Commissary are all huge and very nice. They're located a few miles from the FAMCAMP, but there is a Shopette literally next door to the campground, and it's stocked with all the necessities plus a Robin Hood sandwich shop (open for lunch only). During your stay, do go off base and explore Oklahoma City. A 15-minute drive gets you to Brick Town-- a fun rejuvenated, somewhat touristy place that makes me think of Denver's Lo Do meets San Antonio's Riverwalk. There's a Bass Pro Shop, movie theater, baseball park (semi-pro), horse-drawn carriage rides, canal boat rides, statues of hometown heroes Micky Mantle and Johnny Bench and plenty of restaurants. We also went to the terrific Science Center and Omnidome (like IMAX but in a dome). It's near several other museums and a zoo that we didn't visit but looked very nice. Of course there's also the memorial to the Oklahoma City bombing-- I didn't go because my children are too young to understand, but I heard that it's a very touching memorial and that the museum is a must-see. We visited this campground as an enroute stop but extended our stay. We will definitely be back.
