Pros: One of the only RV campgrounds in the area open all year. Price is great. They have 5 pull thru's, and the back in's are big. Probably 6 or 7 are big enough for 45' rigs. Shower facilities are very clean. There is a big field to play with your dog's. I enjoy walking around base with the dog for exercise, and there are plenty of sidewalks. Jason, who is in charge is great to work with, and very easy to work with. Cons: The winter was very hard on the water lines. Be sure to bring plenty of filters. What we had to do is run the water a few seconds to clear the mud, then fill the holding tank so we got less dirt. Our water connection could not be left on, because it is leaking underground, and water puddles at the connection. 2 other campers I spoke with also had very dirty water coming out of the spicket. For some reason the last few days there has been no hot water in the shower house. Jason called to get it repaired, but this is the 3rd day it is out. Unfortunately, this kind of stuff happens, we just happen to be here when it did. You can not use charcoal grills here, and no campfires as of now. Jason say's they are looking into getting this changed. But as most know, on a military base, there are always safety rules. And until they can get a safe way to dump coals, this will be the rule. If you come in the spring, anticipate very wet conditions. There are a lot of marshy areas in the area, and water drains slowly. That is just the way it is in the spring rainy season. This year the spring rains were bad. Overall, very much worth the stay. I would stay here over the other campgrounds in the area, even in the summer when others are open, due to how clean it is and the price. They do have C-130's here and fly at night a lot. But the 130 is not a very loud aircraft, and the campground is quite a way from the runway. As far a civilian aircraft, (this is the Youngstown civilian airport also) they do not fly enough to even notice. Pretty quiet as far as airports go. It is a small airport, so nothing over 6 or 8 passenger aircraft when we were here. Overall great value
