During the last few months of 2009, over 15,000 website members were invited to vote for the Campers Choice Award for the BEST Military Campground in 2009. This year, TWO awards were voted on and are being awarded. Seperate Campers Choice Awards for BEST Military Campground in the Western USA and the Eastern USA are being awarded. The votes have been counted and the reults are in.
The membership of the U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks website has selected Agave Gulch FamCamp, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ as the BEST Military Campground in 2009 for the Western USA, and Eagle Hammock RV Park, Kings Bay Navy Submarine Base, GA as the BEST Military Campground in 2009 for the Eastern USA.
Competion for the Campers Choice Award was even tougher this year than the previous two years. The following table shows some of the differences between voting since the first award in 2007. In 2007 and 2008, there was only one award for the entire USA. In 2009, we had seperate Campers Choice Awards for the Western USA and the Eastern USA.

When looking at the statistics above, remember voters had the option to vote for both, the Western and Eastern USA, or only one. You can't compare Western USA results with Eastern USA results. This year, we also had less military campgrounds nominated (they received at least 1 vote). In addition, we had numerous ties.
