Air Station Atlantic City operates a recreational facility in support of morale and for the benefit of eligible personnel. The facility, a former Coast Guard Life Saving Station built in 1886, is located in Townsends Inlet in the southern portion of Sea Isle City, about 15 miles from Cape May or 30 miles south of Atlantic City. It consists of four rooms for rent with a common kitchen and living space and recreational equipment, including basketball and volleyball courts, grills, and beach bikes. Each of the four apartments can sleep 5, with private bathroom. The Air Station Atlantic City Townsends Inlet Recreational Facility Officer manages the facility while the facility attendant handles all guest reservations. The responsibility for operation and maintenance of the facility rests with Commander, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City.
