We have seen some negative comments from other reviewers and do not agree. We travel all over the U S and I am very particular of where I stay. This is a small park but has level concrete sites that are large enough for 40’ fifth wheel and pickup. Nice amount of grass and so clean with great water pressure. For $25 a night it’s a wonderful place to stay!!
What a great park!! Easy to get to from the Main Gate (Exit 161 off I-44.) Concrete, spacious, and the Outdoor Adventure staff has revealed expansion to include laundry, showers, etc. The Shoppette on Missouri Ave as you leave has clearance (14') to fill up before you hit the road. Not sure what LADAC's complaint was about. Each site has full hook-up. Trees have been planted, and someday they will provide a little shade. The reason I rated Cleanliness as a 4 was due to the fact that the grass was in desperate need of mowing (which they finally did a few days after I arrived,) and I gave Amenities a 3 because there is no WiFi and no laundry. But I'm hopeful that those necessities will be added in the future!
Newer camp that still needs some work. 12 sites all with large, level cement pads. No picnic tables or grills yet but you can tell they've planned for them based on the way the pads are laid out. PX, Commissary, Class IV stores are all just short drive away. Looks like there's room to expand if this camp gets enough visitor's to make it worth the expense. No Laundry or bath facilities at this time hence the 3 star rating on Amenities/Facilities. Also no wi-fi. Over all a nice place for a stop over.
Been a while since this place was reviewed so here's one. Nothing has changed. Still just a slab and utilities, that's it nothing else. Make sure and use the main gate, if your over 12' high stay all the way to the right where it says delivery trucks. 12 identical concrete pads are sorta level grass is a little high and there is a dumpster.
Base has everything you'd expect. $30 a night.
Plain rv park. Concrete level pads, small new trees. Difficult time making the reservation as no one answers the phone. For days. Once we were able to make reservations, we were given a site number but once there and set up, were told we were in the wrong site. It worked out ok. No facilities in the campground area. Good water pressure. Approx 12 sites so probably half are full time. Price was $32/night.
- Office organization appears to be lacking. Made reservation 2 Jan for a 21-25 Apr stay & was assigned site #1. Tried calling 1 day prior & day of arrival to verify site assignment, no answer so left voice mails. Site #1 was occupied with what appeared to a a long-term resident and no camp host here. At least one other site also was obviously long term. There were a few empty sites and one couple leaving a day early so we took their site. FamCamp sign said office hrs M-F 0900-1700 + Sat-Sun 1000-1800. Was at office at 0900 the next morning (Tuesday). Office door sign said 0900-1700 Tue-Sat. (Closed Sun-Mon) No explanation but reassigned us to the site we were in and said all is well. Two days later another camper came in, all sites were full, and said we were in their site. Here we go again.. - No laundry facilities, no bathrooms facilities, no shower facilities, no playground facilities, no WiFi, no picnic tables so make sure you are self-contained if you stay here. + 12 nice, wide, long paved sites with paved roads connecting
+ Solid AC power, good water pressure and operable sewer. + Nice museum complex on post to visit + Quiet, peaceful stay. Perfect for attending a graduation. Would stay here again.
Obviously no RVer gave input for the design. No trees and this is in the middle of huge national forests. No RV dump site!!! If all you want to do is use a RV dump site, you must pay full registration for a site. PPPP...Piss Poor Prior Planning.
We only stayed for three nights but have no complaints. We had no problem making the reservation and the staff were polite when calling to collect the rest of our site fee. The park had only six or seven RV's while we were there and the utilities worked great. The park is easy to get to from the main gate off Business I-44, continue down Missouri Avenue and take a left onto First Street. The park will be on your left you should not miss it. Would have been nice to have a laundry room but we knew in advance and planned accordingly. The PX and Commissary are close by and a Shoppette is right up from the main gate but did not have diesel. The gym was also close by and not crowded.
