Stayed there for Rolling Thunder May '06. Had phoned the day before arrival. I informed them that I would be arriving late in the evening. They said, "No problem for a tent site!" When I arrived (2100 hrs.) the office was closed. Other tenters were helpful and I set-up by headlight of my bike. Campground was full with motor homes, 5th wheels, and tow campers. Tenting area did not have dedicated individual tent sites. It is a grass field and you pick a spot, if one is available. The rest rooms/showers were spacious and trash cans were full. Long term campers were keeping it as clean as possible. Later, I'd find out that janitor had been pulled off the job for that week. The following day, the lady who managed the camp area did some cleaning and I'd have no complaints! All total, the stay was pleasant. Finding the camp area in the dark was not the easiest to do. Being on a strange military base can be daunting, sometimes. Noise from the flight line was bearable. "Restrictions" for motorcycles follows the "Military Policies" -- be prepared to sweat with helmet, jacket, reflective vest, gloves, and boots! We understood the "Safety Issues." We would go, again. But, not in a tent!
