Stayed at Goose Creek campground, at $30/night for water/electric. Some of the tent sites can also handle small trailers, but have no water/electric and go for $20/night. First day was highlighted by overflights by a variety of Naval aircraft (C-2A, C-12M, C-38, E-2C/D, E 6B, C/KC-130J/T, MQ-4C, P-8A, and T-6A). Some noise and crossed both flight line and ground-based steam-powered catapult launch line. But, over the 4th of July holiday, there were no flights and the campground was not only almost deserted, but peacefully quiet. This pet friendly site accommodates pull thru or back in with water and electric hook-ups. Each pad can provide up to 30 amp service with some having 50 amp services. This site is conveniently located near restrooms/showers with creek views and easy access to kayak and canoe launch, fishing pier and beach. Scattered throughout the campground are portable toilets, but well serviced and clean. Spot check at four of the campground portable toilets showed logged as being serviced at least every three or four days. The "comfort station" building at the campground main entrance has two showers, in addition to the toilets and sink in both male/female sections. Suggest, if given the choice, to be in either the A or B loop as they are closest to the "comfort station". No paved or gravel pads for the sites, but fairly level grass. Some are pull through (such as C3), but most trailer sites are back-in. Each of the trailer sites had both a fire ring and nice steel picnic table. T-Mobil was three bars, and StarLink was severely degraded due to extensive tree cover. The fishing pier out onto the Pawtuxet River was closed as it was broken in places and under poor repair.
