We take our RV to GP any chance we get. We have hiked biked, fished, kayaked, slept well and made tones of snores on the beach. We ride our ATVs on the local tail network and generally chill out in this beautiful pristine paradise. Close enough to every thing you need on a vacation yet secluded in the hills of Aurora. Rift pond is a hidden treasure that I plan to fly fish this spring. We rent boats (reasonable rates) and fish the lake from one end to the other. We have spent hours by the campfire and chewed the fat with many mil families from all over the country. Our kids make new "friends for life" each time we visit. Make GP a wilderness escape or your base for a family holiday in Downeast Maine. The gang up there are friendly and helpful and can hook you up with all the local intel for great getaway. The military should have far more of these in New England operated in the same professional and courteous manner. Go see for yourself, I know you will agree.
