Again we had another fantastic vacation at Great Pond! Weather was great, even went to Canada for a day. Then, swimming, boating, nightly campfires, and way too much eating (Steak, Lobsters, barbeque chicken & ribs, steamers, shrimp, hotdogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob. Everyone was hoping to see a moose, not this year. We did have a friendly rabbit and squirrel at the cabin, spotted three deer, but the best part of the trip was yesterday afternoon. We all piled into the motor boat and headed out looking for a new swimming spot. We found a great place on the other end of the pond. After a couple of hours of relaxing I heard a strange sound, I said it sounded like a hawk or eagle. About 5 minutes later, a Bald Eagle flew right over us. This lasted for about 30 minutes, unbelievable! Then the eagle landed on the island. One more note: The entire staff at Great Pond is out of this world! Don't forget the maintenance crew! We notice several new improvements, new TV & VCR, refrigerator, counter tops, water heater, boat docks and new cut trials to boat dock. Top notch operation!
