Sure hope that this FamCamp didn't get too much damage after Isaac....Plaquemines Parish is close to where this is located. That being said, we stayed there & had a great experience. The head of Outdoor Rec even approached us in the Commissary parking lot to make sure that we knew where the park was & that there was even a park on the installation. The initial reaction was the same as the previous reviewer...that you see a campground full of old FEMA trailers with eroding concrete steps, dead plants, etc., until you realize that the FamCamp is the next left turn....what a difference! The park is about 10 miles from the French Quarter, the French Market, etc. but is still within a reasonable driving distance from the Superdome and other New Orleans activities. We will be back again.
