We are full time RVers and go from famcamp to famcamp and have probably stayed in over 50 so far. This famcamp is ok, but the 2 girls running it are beyond disrespectful. We’ve been here twice because our son is stationed here and they should NOT be working with the public. Both times we’ve been here the main girl has been beyond unhelpful, extremely rude and disrespectful. We will find a local campground before ever coming back here and having to deal with them, which is too bad because we’ve loved every other famcamp, the hosts and outdoor rec people. Beware and expect to deal with very rude and unprofessional young ladies.

Directions to office on website are incorrect. Continue straight through stop sign to the stables on the left. Office is there. There are two campground areas. The one opposite side of road from office has gravel sites more suitable for trailers. Continue past office across narrow bridge to lower area which has concrete pads and full hookups. Pick a spot and go to the office to tell them and pay then. Lower area more suitable to large trailers and motorhomes.

First time to Ft. Campbell. Stayed at site 10. Gravel pad, picnic table and a post to hold lanterns along with full hook-ups. Although the water from the pipe would always run stained for the first minute. I also hope that the skeet range at the bottom of the hill doesn't bother you being open EVERY DAY. I am a skeet shooter myself but everyday, Really! The shower house was kept clean and being off post and a very short drive to town is a plus. The price was right but overall I think I would give it a 5 of 10 because of the range.

Potential is there, needs some clarification. Staff is great, used access pass for $2. off rate. Located off base and you will drive by Outdoor Rec (red building), then Eagles Nest cg (right side), and at the bottom of the hill and over the bridge (read weight limits in other reviews) is Fletcher's Fork cg. IMPORTANT - At outdoor rec they will provide a free 50 amp to 30 amp convertor or you may purchase for about $30. First up is Eagles Nest cg - not level but doable, gravel, back-in, forested, loop design, not satellite friendly, 30 amp sites. The $ washer/dryers are here. Also if I remember right Eagles Nest is labeled as recreational trailer vehicles ???? so it will take a double look. Next is Fletcher's Fork (at the bottom of the road) - level, open, paved, pull-thru cg with 20 amp or 50 amp sites, but you will need to disconnect either your truck or toad (sites not quite long enough). We would stay again.

Was not planning to stay here but primary campgrounds in KY was unacceptable.  So, due to my own fault I did not catch that there are TWO campgrounds located closely.  Eagles Nest appears to be an older, smaller campgrounds best suited for smaller trailers and pop-ups.  Fletchers Fork appears to be newer, pull-throughs, paved full hookup sites.  Eagles Nest is the first campgrounds you come to so we turned in there.  Our fifth wheel is 42 ft long and we did find one available site (#10) we could get it into and level it, so we did.  Full hook-up and was even able to sneak Directv signal through the trees.  We checked in after the office was closed (1630 hrs) so we checked in the next morning and was offered a better site at Fletchers Fork but we declined.  Personnel were helpful.  The sites were OK, needing some gravel and attention.  Overall, is a good campground, not great.  I would use again, but would head for Fletcher's Fork with the size of out rig.  OBTW, the person I spoke with said the 9 ton limit sign to get to Fletcher's Fork is not accurate and is to deter military vehicles from crossing.  If that is indeed the case they need to post the actual weight limit and deal with the tactical vehicles by other means.  Just a suggestion.

We stayed in the Fletcher Forks area with a 40 ft 5th wheel since there are pull through sites. Site was just long enough for us.  Driving directions should be revised due to 9 ton bridge weight restriction. Be sure you Turn Right at MWR bldg. Clarify rest of directions with MWR office. It's a longer way to get to CG but it avoids the bridge.

Actually we did not stay. We called ahead and got directions. I told the gentleman over the phone we were in a 40ft RV and would be arriving around 8pm. I got directions and was told I had to go a certain way due to the late arrival. We had no problem until we reached the one lane bridge with the 9 ton weight limit (remember I'm in a 40ft 36,000 lb coach). I had to turn around in a field pulling a toad in the dark. Ended up staying at the Wal-Mart. It would have been nice if the gentleman would have told me about the bridge weight limit and an alternate route.

Not what we thought. The Fletcher's Fork while designated for big rigs but very small with no parking spaces for the toad. Cannot find the laundry. The firing from the range, located adjacent to the park, is not a good place for sensitive dogs. The single lane bridge sign says for vehicles not over 9 tons, most large rigs are well over that. Verizon phone gets one bar and web stick does not get a signal. Overall OK but would rather be in a different park.

Fletcher Fork RV park was a nice scenic place. We had a FHU pull thru site, (#4), but it was so short that we could not park the car and MH both on the site. Our AT&T cell phones worked most of the time, but not always. There is no WiFi anywhere on the entire base, so we went to the library or to McDonalds to check email. My wife complained about the traffic going by from 5 am to about 6 am, (folks going to work). The skeet range is next door and you hear that a lot and the helicopters are overhead day and night. They make the TV lose it's signal. The bathrooms are dirty, but a good pressure cleaning and painting would help. With a Senior Pass card from US Park Service, the cost was $18 instead of $20.

J.B. left this review using the Directory software: Fletcher Park is great as usual. Minor noise from Skeet Range, but that is less than the military helicopters flying around. Upgrades to Eagle's Nest have been finished. I think they all have sewer connections now, but haven't been able to confirm.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fletchers Fork. Only negative was the one day of skeet shooting all day into the evening. Great surroundings and good RV spots. We used the campground for home base. We both grew up in the area and traveled out every day. We will always use this campground when we come back. We were self contained so didn't use showers. We had stayed here before Fletchers was done and Eagles was a not as nice but still ok for the price at that time.

This could be a wonderful cg if MWR had some $ to repair some things. I agree with Feb 08 review in the cost savings. The rates are: Eagles Rest; $16 night, $400 month. Fletchers Fork $20 night, $520 month. Both have $2 off a night for golden age/access. Showers were OK. I've used a lot worse in my active duty days. My only complaint was no Wifi/Cell reception and poor TV reception. There is a connection for phone/cable in the shore power box but neither works. This could easily be repaired with a little $. Skeet range is nearby and you hear it but soon learn to tune it out. This is a wonderful location in a valley beside a nice creek. Has a lake, fish pond for the kids, picnic area, and large area to let the dogs loose. All MWR outdoor rec activities are located in this area so it can be busy on the weekends. I would stay here again. The next closest cg to Ft Campbell costs much, much more.

I was surprised to read some of these comments! A few years ago the cg was pretty rough. No one seemed to care about it. Now it has improved SO much! People who think it is bad obviously have not been there before it changed hands to the ones who run it now. The staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of information, maps, and numbers provided when you go into the office whether you decide to stay or not. The price is steep for not having pools, wi-fi, cable, etc. but the price is the price. Not true with nearby places. You pay per person after two people and per kilowatt for electric. That is way too expensive. I have a family of 5 so paying $30 per person for 3 "extra" and $0.15 per kilowatt plus $350 a month is well over the price at Fort Campbell. As far as those extras go, the pools are up the street and I don't travel with my family to stop and watch TV. If we get it and its raining then great. If not, that's even better. Plus I could get a satellite if I had to have it. Anyway, the cell phone service has even improved thanks to more towers being added recently. (I heard the towers were added but for sure the service is better) I didn't have a single dropped call and had bars the whole time. Before I had nothing at all. My provider didn't change either. So I'm thinking the tower thing is true. We had no problems with other guests during our stay and the packets of information we were given when we arrived gave phone numbers for emergencies and after hours. There are upgrades being made to the bathrooms and there are even new cabins being built with bathrooms inside. Hopefully the ones who had a bad experience will give it another chance. We will be back!

We never actually camped at this park but we spent many hours playing at the playground that is located near the camp ground. We always said that we would never camp at this camp ground because of the cost of the park, the location of the park and the fact that there is no cell phone/ internet reception. The park is way too expensive for what is located at the campgrounds- too expensive and not much to do. It is a good distance to the commissary and post exchange. The px is the largest in the world, so that's a bonus. Hopefully they will either lower the prices or add to the camping experience. Way too expensive!!!!!

Just when I thought this C/G couldn't get worse it did!!!! Stayed at C/G 23-26 October '08 for the Retire Appreciation Day. As before, no phone, cell or Internet service (dead area), basic hookup WSE only. No campground host on site (none all year). If there was an emergency I don't know how you could get emergency response after hours (4:00 PM). Besides, there are hunters in the C/G with weapons, skinning deer, drinking and fighting. Then there was a person who decided to deficate under a tree and when asked "why didn't you use the facilities"; he said "I couldn't get in"!! The bath house has entry locks that require a code punched in.This leads me to think "was he a paying occupant"?!! Asked some hunters if they were retired, active duty or otherwise; most said no. I thought this was a military campground. Seems to me this C/G is totally out of control. And to add insult to injury, the rates went up for "paying customers". $20 bucks a nite with $2 off for golden access. In conclusion, this is a very unsafe and hazardous campground, if you want to call it that. I will never stay here again, especially with my family!!!

My wife and I were on Fort Campbell yesterday and decided to check out the campgrounds. I was very surprised to find the campgrounds in a highly maintained condition. First: Eagles Rest: Was very clean, we did not get to check out the restrooms or bath house as we were not registered campers. $14/$11 per night W/E, with National Park and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. $350.00 per month. May 1-Sep 30, max of 30 days stay then must vacate for at least 48 hours to return. Oct 1-Apr 30, max of 60 days then must vacate for a least 48 hours to return. Fletcher's Fork: Listed $18/$15 per night with National Park and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for FHU 50 amp service, or $450.00 per month. May 1-Sep 30, max of 30 days stay then must vacate for at least 48 hours to return. Oct 1-Apr 30, max of 60 days then must vacate for a least 48 hours to return. Well mowed grass, all sites were clean and nice level concrete pads. There were no homesteaders. Again, we did not check out the bath house or restrooms as they have locks and we did not have the code for them. We completely forgot to check out the phone service but on next trip down, I will try to remember and see what AT&T has for a signal. Talked to one RVer and he stated it was very quiet with good TV reception, and seen plenty of deer. We then stopped by the new MWR main office and talked to the clerk, who was very friendly and gave us an information packet. The packet contained prices for the camp sites. Going back through gate #10, it isn't that far from the PX/commissary.

ADDED: Went back through on 8/4/08 to check cell phone service. Did not get signal except when we stood near the bath house, then we had plenty of signal there.
