We enjoyed our stay here in two different RV sites and found this place one of the better Air Force managed facilities. Our first 3 nights were in a site with water and 30/50 amp electric away from the main RV campground. We actually liked this site a lot as it was quite private and we had a view of the water. The next 5 nights were in the main RV campground with full hookups. The...
We enjoyed our stay here and found the laundry room and restroom cleanliness have improved since past reviews. We did find the coin machine out of order in the laundry room and one washer not working properly. The trash dumpster was not overflowing and was in good order. You will never see anyone from MWR or a camp host but that is fine. The RV gate coordinates on this listing took us right to the original...
The road into the rec area has been repaired and all storm debris has been picked up. Disc golf and paint ball still closed. I rated amenities/facilities four stars because there is a policy in place not to rent any MWR equipment to retired people due to covid. Guess us old folks are dangerous. This is a great place to stay. Battleship row has paved roads, concrete pads and full hookups. There is a...
We were in site #2 in a travel trailer. Only 4 sites so if you are sandwiched in between two huge class A's like we were then no view and cramped. Great value compared to civilian hotels but not a whole lot cheaper than the state parks (very hard to get into). There is a 10 pm deadline during the week and midnight on Fri & Sat to get back in the gate. You have to...
Great place to stay - we parked our 25 ft travel trailer at the Marina campground on base and had one of the four spots on the grass area right near the beach/water. There is no sewer hookup at these four spots but it was worth it to us to be close to the water. The other sites behind the cabins seemed a bit tight, hidden, and boring. We probably would not have picked one of these four...
This was our first trip ever... brand new travel trailer.... total newbies! We are so happy we picked this facility for our maiden voyage. "T" and Allen were very gracious campground hosts and helped us immensely with questions and "issues" with our new RV. The campground and facilities were VERY clean. We did find the WiFi signal to be a little weak, especially at peak usage times. Joint Base Charleston (ex Charleston AFB) is a great facility -...
