Little out of the way BUT nice. We stoped here on the way N. last March. Nice post & PX. For a stop over it's hard to beat. THE only thing that really needs to be added is WiFi something that would cost very little and mean so much. Thank you for a nice 3 day lay over.

This has to be one of the top campgrounds we have been to. Nice place, nice people, felt good to be back on a post. Some of the BEST BBQ within 500 mi. just down the road on 31. We love the Ft. Monroe area. Nice campground, pine trees need trimmed for better tv reception, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. But we won't go back because of what we call sand burrs. They are terrible and are all over the camp area. We couldn't even let the dog out without picking burrs from his paws. We are still picking them out of things-carpets, shoes and so on. I guess they must come from some type of grass head there. They...

New part is NICE. I would call at least two weeks ahead and more if poss. If J-130s and choppers don't bother you, you will really like this place. If you just want to get away and see the water, Nice. Internet uptown at Muddy Waters (coffee shop) head to town turn right at light past school stay on that St. it will be on your left(at Main I think)
