Camp Pendleton Area Question?

We are going to try to get into one of the Camp Pendleton areas to visit Disneyland with teh grandkids. Can anyone offer advise on which of the three (Del Mar, Onofre, O'Neill) is closest to Disneyland, or if they are far enough apart to even matter? Also, recommendations, thinking about mid week (M-F) and mostly for touring the area so a beach front is not that high on my ist, just a nice secure campsite with FHU ro W/E min for 3-4 days...

Can't help with locations, but FYI -- Military AD and Retired get a discount at Disneyland and Disney World and some of the other areas this year ... ask about it before you reserve -- I think you must reserve in advance to get low rates -- some are even free tickets for Military an spouse and kids ... check it out, I don't have all the details.

San Onofre is at the northern end of the base on the coast and is definitely the closest. O'neil is quite a ways inland in the southeastern-central area close to the Naval Hospital. Takes quite a while to make your way out to the interstate - base speed limits are on the low side and they have NO sense of humor about speeding! Del Mar is at the southern end on the coast but check the info on Larry's site here to see if there are hookups. They did not have them in the past, but my personal info is a few years out of date and besides, I did all my camping in the training areas then!

The closest campground to Disneyland would be Seal Beach which is located near Long Beach. It is a beautiful campground.

I think we're going to try and take advantage of the Disneyland offer. We hope to stay at Seabreeze at Sealbeach for a week in Feb/Mar and go see the mouse for a few days. Thanks Nomads for the tip!
