It's time to start thinking and planning for our 3rd Annual Website Gathering. For the past couple years, website users have met for breakfast in January while visiting the Quartzsite, Arizona area. Last year, over 40 website users got together to meet, chat, exchange stories, and just have a good 'ole time. It's fun putting faces with some of the names we see on the website and in the forums discussions.

For 2009, the 3rd Annual Website Gathering will be in the Southwest area again. I'm looking for suggestions and ideas for this years gathering. Perhaps we can have a potluck lunch or dinner either at Davis-Monthan AFB, or near Quartzsite again (both in Arizona). Breakfast was fun, but it was a bit chilly early in the morning. In addition, finding a location to host us is becoming a challenge.

Let me know your ideas, and if you think you might be attending (it helps with the planning). More information will be posted here on our 3rd Annual Website Users Gathering as we get closer.

My two 2 cents worth would not limit choices to the SW, but if you are going to do so then Ft Bliss in El Paso, TX. If not, then Eglin AFB in the panhandle of FL or Lake Seminole COE park in southern GA.

Two priority issues on a location would be the expense of fuel to get there and whether or not it's warm there in January.

Anyone is welcomed to host a social gathering anywhere they wish. It just so happens that the one I host will be where I'm located at the time. :) We had hoped to get to Florida this winter, but fuel prices are keeping us on the west coast. We spent too much this summer. :(

Larry,
Jean and I will be at Yuma proving ground or Quartsite etc., we would love to meet and or join your group in any place around Az. Ca. area. Just put the word out and we will be there. It may be possible to have it at the Yuma proving ground campground. They have a pretty large meeting area there and also a large covered area outside that can be used. If you would like when I get there in late Nov. I will check with the hostes. She is a great person.

I would love to drag the RV out for a trip in the "winter" in Arizona! I would vote for D-M AFB, if they would be accomodating, but that is peak season there. Gila Bend would probably make efforts to accomodate a gathering. I've never been to Yuma, so that would be fun if they would accomodate! Problem for me, I would only stay a few days. And those snowbird campgrounds would not be interested in kicking out a long-term camper, so I can sneak in for 2 or 3 nights!
