Review Detail

We found the FamCamp at Travis to be a treat to be at for the month. I had been to Travis only once many years ago, and did not realize all it had to offer. Just an immaculate base, with great amenities. The BX/Commissary complex is fabulous and a short walk from the FamCamp, and the base gym is world-class. The only draw-back of the Famcamp is the lack of free Wifi. That would make it even better, but we had a neighbor with Comcast wifi who shared it with us, and since we are full time bloggers, that was important (Thanks Carl!) Corinna (the Famcamp manager) was VERY pleasant and a treat to deal with (so was her husband Jim). This is a definite return destination for us in the future. BTW - I heard good and bad about the former managers of the Famcamp while I was there, some pining that they kept the place ship-shape, and others complaining they were ogres. I never had the opportunity to meet them, but as far as I am concerned, Corinna and Jim are wonderful hosts!
