The RV Park itself is okay... nothing to crow about but meets basic needs. Signage is somewhat confusing once you get to the park (the Winans Gate is best access but sure takes some navigation to get from the gate to the park... this site's directions are spot on). Staff was pleasant at initial greeting but never returned a later phone call w/message left for them. 41 points of "rules" to be acknowledged for camping here. Sure wish people would abide by them or that staff would enforce them! Active-duty Army and USAF personnel were less than exemplary, and the retirees had their issues, too (speeding, dogs left unattended, dogs left to run loose, etc.). Of course, this changes as campers change, but the stress on the "rules" led me to believe a more respectful groupthink. All I could do was set a positive example. On-base/post facilities are what should be expected for an installation this size. Convenience to San Antonio's central sights is this FamCamp's most positive feature as it's only minutes from downtown/River Walk/Tower of the Americas/Alamo or Brackenridge Park.
