Camp RobbinsEglin AFB is located near Ft. Walton Beach, FL. There's actually TWO FamCamps at Eglin AFB. The "Camp Robbins" RV Park is the most widely known. Hidden away on Eglin AFB near the shores of Lake Lorraine, the directions posted here got us right to the campground. These area has paved roads with gravel RV pads, a concrete patio and a picnic table. These are FHU sites with 30Amp and 50Ampe electric available. A dump station is available. Big Rigs will easily fit in these sites and get around the FamCamp.

There's a 90 day stay limit here, and sponsored guests are allowed with a 14 day stay limit. There's a small community room with a TV located in the office. The restrooms and showers were very clean during our visit. Unfortunately, there's no Internet available at the campground. You'll need to go to the library or food court for WiFi.

The other campground on Eglin AFB is "Postl Point". This campground is a little more rustic, as there's no paved roads or RV pads. The RV sites are spread out in a dirt/grassy field located on Postl Point on Lake Lorraine. The view is pretty good from here and sites are spaced well apart. Some RV sites had picnic tables and BBQ's, while others didn't. These RV sites have water and 30amp electric. There's no sewer connection at the RV sites.

There is a dump station, restroom, and showers located at Postl Point. But that's about it. While a little more "spartan" than other campgrounds, this area looks like it would be fun for the family. It's directly on the water and has a more "camping" atmosphere than a concrete RV Park.

Both campgrounds give a 10% discount for USAF Services Club card holders. But at $20 a night, the price is getting to be at the high end for a military benefit. Eglin AFB is a large base and has all of the amenities you would expect. The nearby Armaments Museum is very interesting and is free. Of course, there's lots to see in the local area, being on the Florida coast.
