This is a nice campground. It appears to have been designed by someone who wanted something nice but had no idea of how RV'ers would use it. You park between islands. These islands are raised and surrounded by 10" curbing. If you drive a motorhome this curbing makes it very difficult to get to your storage access, wet bay, or electrical bay. When my coach was level I could not open the wet bay door because it was against the curbing. The office takes a lunch break from noon until 2:00 and will not let you check in before 2:00. You cannot go to your campsite because they won't tell you what it is and the electric and water are padlocked. They do not provide you with a campground map and the clerk was not familiar with the campground or RV's. Price is now $30. The power for my site was on the passenger side of the coach. I called ahead to check on the North Gate as was suggested in other write-ups and was told it was broken. There is a bypass entering the main gate which was easy to use. On leaving there is a sign by the main gate that says if you are over 9' in height or over 9' in width to not use the main gate. I was told to go to the south gate and call for exit. There is a 5% credit card fee which they do not inform you about when you check in. This is a reserve base with no facilities. There is a very small exchange. It was quiet and peaceful. Helena is fairly convenient and very interesting. With all the above, I would stay here again if in the area.
