We planned on 7 nights so that we could visit Boston and surrounding Revolutionary War sites. We requested a Big Rig Friendly site but were assigned site 66. The sites are so tight that we cannot put out our awnings without hitting the 5th wheel next to us and barely have enough room for our truck to be parked diagonally in front of our 46' 5th wheel. There is no logic to the size of the sites as some are much larger and I guess your experience at this FamCamp depends on what site you are assigned. Site 66 in NOT a good option and definitely not a good experience! We prefer to stay at military bases due to the heightened security and overall cleanliness and order, however this FamCamp does not meet those expectations. There is no military security here, only a bent up open chain link gate and you are outside of the back side perimeter fence. To gain access to the campground, you are driving through civilian residential roadways. The Main Gate is on the other side of the base. This FamCamp is seriously lacking overall cleanliness and any military order or presence. You have to go on base to the MWR to pay your camping fees. The staff at MWR are nice but there is no one at the campground on site. Be VERY cautious using the water hook ups. We have a triple water filter and in one day, the first filter was totally clogged with brown rust and we had to replace all 3 filters. Luckily, Amazon delivers to the Whole Foods that is 2 miles away and we could get additional replacement filters in 2 days. This is a very disappointing FamCamp and will not be on our Return List.
