1. Park Quality - Lots of really great things about this park. Clean laundry, ($1.50 for wash and $1.00 for dry) Wide paved road keeps park noise down. Access to water recreation rental fun. 2. Sites - All sites are concrete pads that are fairly level. Utilities were good with the exception of extremely hard water. Sadly, goat head thorns were in abundance. My dog had her paw punctured and it occurred on our pad, not in the gravel or on a trail, I used my leaf blower daily to ensure they didn’t reappear. They were also in the gravel surrounding our site. (One note; there is a wonderful trail out the back side of the park and I found no thorns here.) 3. Location - Its location to Coronado and San Diego make it amazing. But, with the park right on CA-78, NOISE (see next item). 4. Noise - The noise from CA-78 was off the charts. It seemed like every vehicle was racing and all had modified exhausts to increase the noise level. Add in motorcycles and diesel trucks and I promise you peace does not exist. (Yes, I’m old and cantankerous). 5. Cell Service - Verizon was three bars of 5G. 6. Wifi - I do not remember if there was park WiFi as I had no notes on it. Starlink was 220 Mbps down and 35 Mbps up. 7. Rates - $76 a day. 8. Access - The park is not on an installation but there is a gate that requires card key access after normal business hours. (provided by the office at check in). 9. Dog Friendliness - Despite the presence of the goat head thorns, I would say this is very dog friendly. The great trail out the back of the park along, the Bayshore bike path out front and the off-leash park at the entry parking lot, mean there are a lot of places you and your pup can explore. And a short drive up the road is an off-leash dog beach! -- Wrapping it up. This was my final stop in California and of all the military “Famcamps” south of LA this was the best. I would definitely stay here again. (just knowing I need to be more vigilant over the goat head thorns).
