While staying at the FamCamp, I rode my bike out to Lake Canyon Campground. This was previously known as "Pine Canyon Campground". I don't know when they changed the name, but it's the same place. Nice, quiet location near the small lakes. Rustic, with a water faucet and porta-potties. Ideal if you want "camping" and not a RV Park. I was surprised to see a camp host there. They were the only ones in this small campground. Only tents, small trailers and vans can fit here. There is a short uneven gravel road to get here. Great deal at $8 a night, self-pay.

We examined the main famcamp and then came out to Pine Canyon Campground. The directions are written correctly but it should be added that the pavement stops as you descend down the hill. The rest of the way is on gravel roads. The fees have raised to $8.00 per night, the same as the famcamp, so we chose not to stay here, but return to the main famcamp for the same price to get the creature comforts available. I will evaluate that site after we depart.

Spent the afternoon exploring the area. Nobody was staying in the campground, which is in a very quite and relaxing location. It would be nice to stay, but still have the base facilities nearby. Room for about 3 or 4 pop-up trailers, in addition to about 6 tents.
