First come/first serve, so suggest calling same day before arriving to check availability. We got lucky and there were seven sites open, in open sky with most with concrete pad and picnic table but no fire ring or grill. Couple sites around the edge were within trees but were grass/gravel. The FHU connections were convenient, but the septic was separated more than usual from the water/electric. Two normal septic hoses reached from the RV to the drain. Some sites need longer than normal connections for septic hookup. Check-in for space with the camp host at site 11, just at the entrance. Pick up the registration form at the large sign at the FamCamp entry. Drop off in the laundry room with different separate sections in the host and registration drop boxes with either money or credit card number. The combination for the laundry room, as well as the bathrooms is on the envelope picked up at the entry point announcement board. Both showers, while somewhat old fashioned, were both roomy and clean. Laundry is two washers/two dryers at $1 each. The dryer time can be extended during the active period, with additional quarters. If the time runs out on the dryer and more time is needed, then it gets restarted with another dollar in quarters. So, make sure that the dryer time is extended rather than restarted. The FamCamp is about a half mile from the end of the LRAFB runways. As an active USAF base, there were extended periods of aircraft engine noises during the night, as a loud buzzing sound. The host unit, the 19th Airlift Wing, reports to Air Mobility Command and provides the Department of Defense the largest C-130 fleet in the world. The aircraft on permanent display at the Vandenberg gate is noted as not only the last C-130 out of Saigon, but also the C-130 that holds the record for the most passengers onboard. Locally, there is the Clinton Presidential library as well as the Old Mill used the starting of the movie "Gone with the Wind". WiFi speeds (Mbps): Starlink 44 down/15 up; T-Mobile 300 down/8 up; no FamCamp WiFi.
