Holy mackeral. An oasis in the S. Texas desert. It's a privately owned, retirement resort inside an old USArmy calvary post. There are RV sites, RV homes, new homes, you name it. Even the old fort quarters are privately owned also & are kept up by the owners. It's amazing. You can read about it online & see pics. The point is-if you're on the way to or from Laughlin AFB stop here overnight at least, to see the old fort, play golf, swim, etc. You'll be as surprised as we are. Passport America rates for 2 nites but the regular $124 for a week, was cheaper.

Know some folks (retired military) who live there. With what they have said and now this, looks like this might be a nice place to stop while visiting the big T.
