I am also a firm believer in Tiffin even though I presently have a TREK. The Piggle-Wiggle in Red Bay has the best fried chicken that you will ever have.

I am now within 1 month of my CLASS A RV purchase and need some specific help. This Saturday I am going to look at these 3 RV's and wanted to get your opinions. I was wondering why the 38' Sports Coach had a small HP engine then the other 2.

There are used and then there are USED RV's so be very careful when you make a choice. First and foremost would be the tires on these 3 units, how long have they been on the RV and check the dates on the tires to see how old they are. Also check the generator and how many hours of usage are on it and be sure to start it. Ask if a maintenance log is available from the previous owner/owners and look at it carefully to see if everything was maintained. You really would need to check each and every system and appliance in the units and be sure they give you a 30 day timeframe to bring the RV back for problems you encounter and use the heck out of it in that 30 days. Of course you will test drive it and see how it holds the road and how the brakes work. Have never owned one of these but had a friend with the Chieftan and he had constant problems with the A/C unit in the basement that takes up storage space. I expect you will get some more help here as someone on this forum may own or has owned one of these units and can tell you firsthand what they experienced.

LAMSAN - Thank you, I will go in with all those questions and more. Plus I plan to spend 2 days on the lot both Saturday and Sunday asking questions, test driving all 3, and turning on everything.

Every bit of information is helpful.

Throwing my 2 cents in!!! I bought a 99 38' pusher recently. Check the jacks and make sure they fully retract. Also check awning make sure springs are goo and it retracts OK. Mainly like all RVs check for water leaks. I put an additional 4k in mine fixing stuff. Nothing big, but they add up. I have had a Class C, a 5th Wheel and now a Class A.
Happy travels to you!!! .... Clarence
