The RV Park is excellent. Grass was mowed, sites well situated. Bathrooms were clean, laundry room clean, two washers, two dryers, both working. $2.25/each. TV cable required a box, available at no charge but reception was still terrible. Dining room being renovated, bar extremely quiet. Wonderful beach, very flat, clean, can walk for miles. We enjoyed our visit and hope to return.
This is our 4th visit to KMC (first was 1973). It's a wonderful relaxing place. Our cottage was fully remodeled, nicely furnished, and spotlessly clean. We had a very nice living room with a fireplace, and a large bedroom with a king size bed. Weather was mostly cool and sunny with just one evening with showers. We visited the Jagger Observatory three times, twice at night and were thrilled with the volcanic display. We found the dining hall food...
Very nice rv park, clean, well maintained. Lots of rules but it seems to work well. Stayed for Seabees Day. Fun event.
Good location for us to visit Amistead National Recreation Area. Weather was surprisingly cool, cloudy, and occasional sprinkles so never took advantage of kayak or boat rental. We were in site 5 with 50 amp and water, no sewer. Okay by us because we would use the dump station on our way out. WRONG! Dump station was worst we have ever seen for a military campground. Approach around back of laundry was broken concrete with large potholes. Dump area...
We came in on a Tuesday without reservations as the office is only open Wed-Fri. There were four open sites but we dry camped in the parking lot in case there were late arrivals. Next morning, we called for a site but were told all were reserved. We left the coach parked while we visited Newport. Early afternoon we called again and were told there was one site available. We were scolded when we checked...
We return to Cape Cod every couple years to visit old friends and it is so nice to have an RV park where we lived so many years ago. The previous reviews covered everything thoroughly. Just want to repeat that the price is very good considering the location. On previous visits we stayed at the Bourne Scenic Park and paid around $40/night for water and electric only. A caution for small pet owners - we saw three very...
The campground has a new manager named Amy who is doing an amazing job. They are again taking reservations and everything seems to be running smoothly. Amy has been able to get the grass mowed fairly frequently in spite of the sequester budget limitations. The restrooms are spotless; one of the four washers is awaiting repair but all six dryers are working well. The campground was full due to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally but there was...
We were very happy with the facility. We came in on Sunday afternoon with no reservations. Several spots were available, for one night only, with registration forms in a box at the bath house/laundry. The next morning I contacted MWR and although we had to move to a different site, had no trouble obtaining a site for four more nights. Sites 13-24 are paved and fairly level although they do slope a little, probably for water run-off. ...
First of all - we did not stay here. We called but "no room at the inn", same as many of the reviews below. So we stayed about five miles south at Paul Johnson State Park which was WONDERFUL. We had full hookups, 50 amp, water, sewer, paved sites, right on the lake, a premium site for $24/night. A non-premium site not backing up to the lake but just 30 feet farther, was $20/night or $14 with...
We stayed for two nights over a weekend. The campground was very quiet with not much going on on the base. The dirt road through the campground has several large potholes that should be filled. The concrete pads on the sites are too short for our 38' class A but the sites were level. The first site we tried had no water which we reported. The laundry facilities were very good and cheap at $.75...
Very nice campground, paved level sites near the river, beach, and boat launch. About an hour to the Outer Banks. No bathhouse or showers at the newer section but there is a bathhouse at the beach, just a short distance. The beach is very nice with picnic shelters and benches, and a few chairs. There was even a life guard on the weekend. The water is very clean and safety ropes designate the swimming area....
We have stayed at Ft. Fisher many times but this wasn't our best visit. We were in the overflow area (at $15/night) with no water or sewer and just 20 amp power, thus unable to run A/C and it was hot and humid. Terrible ant problems and we are still trying to get rid of them in the coach. We arrived on Monday after the Memorial Day crowds had left and the bathrooms/showers were terrible - but...
Beautiful location on Lake Moultrie. Sunsets were spectacular. It was a little farther to Charleston than we thought but we didn't mind as it was so nice to sit outside in the evening. We spent both days in Charleston so we didn't take advantage of the many recreation activities at the rec area. We will definitely return and will stay longer next time.
We agree with previous comments and nothing much has changed. The campground is old and a bit overgrown with branches and vines hanging over the dirt road. The sites are paved and level and we did not have any trouble with the 30 amp power except when we tried to run both A/C units. No problems running just one unit, thank goodness, as it was hot and humid. Bathhouse is very old and we did...
This is a very nice FamCamp and an excellent location in Colorado Springs. The nearby train tracks with the noise and whistles at night is the only negative. We loved the large wooded sites and and it is a great place to walk. Bathrooms and laundry are spotless and washer/dryers only $.75 each. The golf course is truly beautiful and a great course to play. Although the office is being renovated, someone was there almost every...
What a great location! We had a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean, with the beach stretching off to the east. Although the BX was very small and no commissary, the Port Hueneme complex was only 20 minutes way. The laundry was $1 to wash and $.50 to dry with three washers and four dryers. New machines were being installed. Not a lot to do on the base but there was a great walk out to the...
