I have reviewed this location before, July 2023, and, since then, the famcamp has not improved or fixed known conditions; water pressure is still atrocious and the bath houses are still nasty. This family camp needs to be regarded to prevent the constant pooling behind the even numbered sites, updated to move the water spigots to behind each individual site from the present location of in the middle of the site next to (very confusing to the uninitiated), and...
Amazingly beautiful location one block away from the beach and one block away from the ICW; a new favorite. Pad sites are well maintained with full hook ups. Easy to navigate into/out of sites. Site #6 offers clear skies above for Starlink. One of the higher priced family camps but, well worth it for the location. No real AF amenities to speak of but the towns of Carolina and Kure Beach are very close at hand....
We've stayed here so many times it's starting to feel like a second home location. All fcfs sites now, Ms. Janet and Ms. Dee are gone leaving only Mr. Jose as a familiar face. Nothing has changed site-wise or amenities-wise. Plenty of spots in both the old and new sections this time of year. Good location for travel and taking care of VA business, Raymond G. Murphy VA center is right outside the base. Good...
Our first time here. Work being done on pivot bridge leading into the camp/beach area so, be prepared to wait if the bridge is pivoted or there is construction need. Arrival - Pretty easy but, only one registration lane. I can see where this would be a problem if multiple campers showed up at the same time. Easy check-in process on arrival. Tips - Plan your arrival to arrive during business hours. Favorites - Can't beat...
Making a reservation here was painful. None of the posted phone numbers were answered and no one called me back until I climbed up the chain of command. Pretty straightforward reservation process once I got someone on the line. Arrival - Very easy to navigate to aside from the atrocious SC roadways. Wide open parking lot to park the rig and register. Four (4) people in the office and at the desk on a Tuesday...
Sigsbee - RV5 - Great location, no disputing that. One-third the cost of local RV resorts, if you can find a spot. Packed in like sardines which is fine, if you're coming to Key West, you're not coming for the RV resort. Camp hosts are friendly and accommodating during business hours; not available after hours to police the park. Only issue we had was active duty partying after quiet hours (0130) and that was only one...
Concur with the reviews regarding site layout, the sites are much too close together and poorly laid out. We are full timers and pride ourselves on being able to get into tight situations to camp but, this was ridiculous. We even opted for a pull through and found it very difficult to navigate and situate to ensure none of our slides hit the utilities. This left us no room for our TV. We also found the...
Directions to get in here were spot on! First time here and we'll be back. Very nice family camp and good value.
What a great RV park. We have stayed at many FamCamps across the country but, this one is by far one of the nicest; ranks right up there with Peregrine Pines at the Air Force Academy. Super friendly staff and really easy check in, appreciated the "follow-me" cart to our site (#16). The site we were given is HUGE and easily accommodated our 45' 5ver and 20' F450. Great amenities for the kid and the dog....
Great customer service. Not much to look at but, good for an overnight stop.
Concur with previous reviews stating the sites are not very long. We have a 45' fifth-wheel and we took up most of the pad; had to park tow vehicle elsewhere. Pads are new concrete with new rock put down within the last month. Two dog parks and a couple places to do laundry, some of the machines were down though. $55/night is pretty high for a military RV campground but, the sites proximity to Ventura and...
Great place to come and camp close to the ocean. DO NOT HAVE ANY MAIL FORWARDED!!!! The general delivery mailbox address provided does not work for USPS, UPS, or FEDEX; your mail will end up out in Oceanside at 211 Brooks St. $65/night is pretty darn expensive for a military campground but, location, location, location.
What a difference a year makes! This time last year, the park was virtually empty. This year, you are fortunate to find a spot. Miss Janet is still here in the office and, by herself, Miss Dee is still here as the camp host and Mr. Jose is here for maintenance and LPG. Unfortunately, they're here by themselves in a park that is nearly full most of the time. Trash service has not kept up...
This is our second time staying at Peregrine, this time in site 12 versus site 99. Arrival - During high season, if you haven't called ahead of time for a reservation, good luck. Make sure you pay attention to the 30-day stay cap for the high season. Tips - Driving north on I-25, take exit 150 to the South Entrance of the USAFA, it's easier than driving to the North Entrance; fewer round-bouts and construction. Driving south on...
Northbound travelers beware, I-25 exit 156 is NOT clearly marked and is under extensive construction; you are better off entering the USAFA using the South Gate entrance exit 150. Alternatively, you can bypass exit 156, take the next exit, go over the bridge and approach exit 156 while heading south on I-25. The north gate entrance to the USAFA has some new traffic slowing curves and a narrow entrance as well. PPFC was very easy to find...
Stopped at KAFB on our way to Santa Fe from White Sands. We stayed in the newer area with wide open pull-thrus, spot 78. Ms. Janet and Mr. Javier were very accommodating and friendly. Facilities were all clean and in good repair. No trees out there in the newer area, so a bit windy. Further utilized their RV storage area for the next 4 months. Make sure you follow the driving directions to get...
