West Basin has been closed to camping for years.. all of the power pedestals, picnic tables and grills have been removed. The area is open for fishing and an MWR bulletin board still refers to the area as West Basin Campground.

Just spoke with Onslow Beach (Camp Lejune) and was informed that the bridge is scheduled to be closed for maintenance 10 MAR 2007 thru 30 MAR 2008. So the Campground and recreation area will be closed. Schedules can change.. suggest a call ahead.

Great hidden jewel off of the beaten track. Newish bathhouse with great showers. Lots of boats to watch on the intracoastal. Dogs allowed only in CG, not surrounding recreation areas, and on the beach several miles south of CG.
