Jim & Becky Fuller should be commended for all their work to make this RV park what it is today. They deserve "Camp Hosts of the Year" award. The only complaint I have is the laundry $3.50 to wash and $2.00 to dry. That's a bit much. It is an easy walk to the Fairbanks Visitors Center. The commissary and exchange are well stocked. For rainy days, the Fitness Center and pool are nice. The round trip drive to the...
Closest military RV park to DC and the Metro (only 4 miles away) which makes it a real bargain, however, it is small and the sites are close together. If in the DC area to be a tourist, highly recommended. Commissary and exchange large. The base itself is rather small for an Air Force Base. The park could use a good face lift, according to the camp host, it's better than it use to be. If you are a golfer,...
Very spacious. Write up touts 20 miles from Savannah, however, actual mileage is almost 30 miles. Post has nice PX, commissary, and fitness center with indoor pool for lap swimming. Lots of paths for hiking. Only draw back is no sewers, however, you can drain gray water onto the ground. Price is right and no homesteaders.
Nice place, however, by mid January they were already booked with 200 on the waiting list for next year. Being able to make reservations a year out is a bit ridiculous for those of us who don't know what we plan to do next month. we would definitely like to go back next winter if we can get partial or full hook-ups for at least a month January/February time frame. We were lucky this past January to get partial hook-ups...
The price is great if you can get a site. We were fortunate the week we stay, there were 2 sites available when we arrived, then full for 5 days. The biggest problem is the "homesteaders". The camp host and one other person I talked to have been there 5 years at $200 per month with free laundry. What a bargain for them. One could tell others have been there for quite awhile by the fenced "yards" and other stuff...
We arrived Friday only to find out Fort Sam and Randolph Rec Areas are now Joint Force operated by Randolph. Sites 11-24 are currently electric only. They now take reservation for sites 1-10 and sites 25-30 are space available. Air Force side has 10 full hookup sites available. Some of the regular, annual winter RVers don't like the change, however, from my conversations with the Air Force staff on the East side, there are plans to make all sites full...
Great place to stay for a couple of weeks because there is lots to do in Tucson. Staff was helpful in every aspect including selling the "Two for One" savings book. Our only disappointment was we could not walk through the Bone Yard. One must take the bus tour provided by the museum, bummer. The staff was very accommodating with our guest. We were able to park together.
It's 90 miles to the Grand Canyon. That's not a day trip. We were going to stay a couple of days but 90 miles each way is too much. Lots of tall pines, pretty area. Some sites are not well defined. I agree with previous writer, walk around if you can to find a spot where the water and electric can be reached. Not all spots have 30 amp service. The sign said campground closed but that was the county...
Overall a nice experience, stayed on the west side which is nothing but an open area with full hook-up sites, wide and long. There were many open spots to choose from, reservations are not taken and were not needed. We arrived after 1600 and did not have access to the bathroom until the next morning due to needing a combination to get in them. We were able to enter through the main gate. We are 36 feet with a tow...
For some reason we've return to this facility three years in a row, each year discovering more history about Camp Blanding. Again this year, the camp hosts were not seen by us for the entire visit. We were able to stay at Primitive Site #1 with full hook-ups the entire time with no prior reservations. The primitive area does have a bath house which has cleaned about once a week. The closest laundry was at the lodge (it was not...
Recently opened with full hook-ups. Sites are tight but plenty room between sites and very close to downtown Savannah. ITT offers reduce prices on all tours and 24 hour laundromat located near the exchange/commissary. Mall and public library outside Rio Gate a real plus. Office personnel at Outdoor Recreation are very outgoing and helpful. Planned improvements will make this a must visit.
