We just returned from Battleship Row. The entrance road has some damage from hurricane Sally and the use of the campground for support personnel to assist with the cleanup. Just drive slow and it is easy to dodge the potholes. (I'm from Pennsylvania so this is second nature for me.) The campground is in good shape with just a little damage to the roof of the old bathroom/laundry building. Anchor Cove is open but we did not get a chance...

A nice quiet campground on Kingsley Lake. I was there helping a buddy replace the heating element in his hot water tank. It is on a reserve base so there are no amenities. It is not near any major towns either. If you are looking for a place to get away, this may appeal to you. Bring you kayak and paddle on the lake. We stopped here for a few days to visit friends in Jacksonville. The sites along the waterfront give a good view of the ship traffic on the St Johns river (and any ships entering/leaving the Navy boat basin). Last time we visited a Canadian sub came in for the weekend. Laundry is free. There is always a wind blowing off of the Atlantic so you cannot put your awning out.
