Confirming there are 45 sites that are all very close in proximity with each other, narrow road to maneuver rigs, not enough room on each site for more than one vehicle plus camper. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers available (free). Campground is a mixture of full time and weekend/vacation campers. Campground host (Alan) is awesome. The bath house is old but all the modern conveniences work -- AC/Heat, hot water, shower, toilet, etc....
When is this campground going to be reopened. It's been closed for several years. Ordnance disposal teams are looking for work to hone skills when back stateside so not sure why Quantico MWR isn't making use of those assets. This park is in a prime location and centrally located to more active and retired military than any other area in the country. Come on Quantico ... get when it.
Goose Creek Campground is closed until February so I stayed at another on-base campground called Pleasant Grove. This is a rustic (dry camping) campground that is not far from Goose Creek or Hog Point. Remember rustic means no water or electricity which is fine because my RV is fully self contained. This campground goes OUT OF IT's WAY to take care of it's guests. Old? yes. Primitive? Yes. But the hospitality of the management makes it worth the visit. I have stayed at many military and civilian campgrounds and the management here does the absolute best with what they have to work with.
