The previous review is right on for facts. But, somewhat off in expectation. The West Fort Hood RV Park is just what it appears to be... an RV Park. They don't pretend to be a resort. If your looking for an RV resort... go to the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA), just down the road. It costs a lot more too. The West Fort Hood RV Park is a very reasonable place to park and serve as a base...

Great campground. Commissary & Main Exchange is located about 5 miles away on Correy Station. Not too inconvenient. Bath facility is cleaned twice a day. I found two WiFi networks that were unsecure, free, and available. They were identified as "Internet" and "Internet1". Both operated at 11Mbps. Very friendly campground. Sites were available during our entire stay. Weather was extremely humid. Beach was great. Diesel is available. Extremely limited parking at the NEX on NAS Pensacola. No problem at Correy...

Nice level concrete pads. Hookups were at rear of pad. Fresh water and sewer right next to each other. You need a long sewer hose if you want your door near to the picnic table. Sites on the outside of the loop require a right hand backup to park (I hate right hand backups). WiFi available if you are close to the office. We were in site 28 and had a weak, but usable, signal. Network is called "Poree"....

Agree with other posts. The campground host is to be commended for his work at the campground. The shower/bath facilities also had a free washer and dryer. They were kept in excellent condition. Civilians are allowed, but military has priority. There are quite a few "homesteaders", but plenty of room for drifters like us. Good southern exposure for satellite TV and internet dishes is available. The new, "short term" (no more than two weeks) campground is on the main post...

The "3" rating for Amenities/Facilities was given for the bath/toilet facilities and no on site sewer connections. Some sites aren't well defined and don't have both 30 and 50 amp service. Some have 50 and some have 30. There is a $5.00 daily entrance fee. Waived for Golden Age/Golden Passport holders. The entrance gate is locked at 2200 hrs (10:00PM). The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. When using their WiFi system and you're using Outlook or Outlook Express, your...
