Fifth Street is a little difficult to recognize while driving down SR 1. I drove past the entrance and had to make a few turns on narrow streets to return. We used the 24/7 Gate #1, (Ft Richardson/Arctic Valley exit from Hwy #1). The posted directions on this site were great, led us to the camp with no issues. We only encountered Active Duty Gate Guards, they were all friendly, courteous and professional. Not homesteading, but we were able to extend our stay from the 2 weeks we scheduled to 7 weeks. What a spectacular view of Lake Michigan.
