Stayed here from Nov. 1 to April 1. This is the policy for winter stays. CG has everything you need, full pad, 50 amp, sewer, paved roads and street lights. Cable would be a nice addition since most sites you can not get satellite because of the trees. The grounds need help. did not see anyone doing anything on the grounds during my stay. The trees need trimming your rig will hit small branches as you travel threw the CG....
This campground is in need of some TLC. The Outdoor Rec. crew of three are responsible for the upkeep and do the best they can from what I have seen. There is no host and no workampers something that would help. This is a quiet and beautiful location on the lake. The sites are level to slightly sloped, and with good spacing between them. They have a nice dock with 6 slips if you have a boat. The...
If you want peace and quit this is the place. This well maintained CG is a great place to stop when traveling threw or for a couple of weeks to catch up on those things to do on the rig. Large Camping World in Anniston. Things to do if you want to drive a bit. Talladega Super Speedway 15 miles, Birmingham 40 miles and Atlanta about a hour and a half. Super market just outside the gate and...
This was our fourth time here. And as always had a great time. One of the best ran campground we have been to. Great staff and friendly campers. Great location with plenty to do. One thing i would like changed is the rig wash policy. You can only wash with water, no soap. It would be helpful if they would approve some "GREEN" products that could be used. There is a wash area about a mile down the road...
The ratings for this location are definitely for the cabins, trailers and marina. The lake is beautiful. Of the 76 sites advertised I only found 5 that were for the RV traveler and could not get conformation from any of the staff. The rest are permanently occupied by RV’s that stay there year round. They have decks and additions built on. Some even have private docks. They seemed to be used by the owners and their families for weekend getaways...
Was suppose to stay here for a month. Got to Charleston early so went to Short Stay then I was going to come here for a month. Like I said I WAS!!! Went by the day before we where to come in and found it to be a old mobile home park in the middle of the housing area. Lots of grass and very clean. My wife had to use the facility's so went over to the bath house...
Just spent a month at this facility and found it to be very enjoyable. Nice location only 30 miles from Charleston which is a wonderful city with a lot of things to do. We did the historic downtown tour, the downtown Market, The USS Yorktown, Plantations and Fort Sumter. If you go down to the Market make sure to deal, especially on the baskets, can get them down by 50% or more. The Campground is laid back. Same rules as...
This was just a drive by since i was in the aera on business. Found this place to be dirty and totaly out of date. They have plenty of room to expand and improve. All but a few sites looked like homesteaders. One site is occupied by a log cabin type trailer on wheels. The type you would see permently on a lake lot for a weekend get away. Regular grills, refrigerators, tables and everthing one would find in...
Secound stay at this CG, Had the first site as you come in so had alot of traffic and dust. The site is lower than the road so got some muddy run off when it rained. Paving the roads would take care of the problem. Great beach access, Spotless bath and luandry. Lots to do in the aera. the BX just went threw a renovation. 90 day max stay. Another good experience at this CG.
4th visit to this CG. Was on the off base one again and found this experience to be just as good as all the rest. Shiela the camp activites director does not stop. Always has something going on (Shopping trips, Crafts, Pot Lucks, Beach walks etc.)and there is no pressure to take part. She does a great job. And you can tell she likes her job. Jerry the camp host does a great job also keeping people aware of the...
