I've stayed at this campground a couple of different times. Like the others have stated, Destiny in the office is great. The showers were good, didn't use the laundry facilities as I used to live in this area and was here to visit friends. The roads need repaving as there are some big holes. They also need signs at the entrances to indicate which are incoming and which are outgoing. They did put some big...
Yes the spaces are tight, but lots of room behind your rig to hang out plus tables and fire rings. Yes there are a lot of geese, it's nature, deal with it. Price is good for what you get, however, I wish they had laundry facilities available. The closest laundromat is in Cheney (6 miles). The guy parked next to me had so much stuff in his space that he could have lived there forever. ...
A pretty nice place, the roads are tight to drive around to find your space. I was told to go to one site and found someone still in it. They put me in another spot that was open. Upon check in, they didn't tell me about needing a special adapter to use the cable, and luckily I had just enough tree clearance to use my satellite. Fairly quiet and the spaces are far enough apart to...
I sure wish I'd known about this place sooner. Awesome views and sunsets. It did get foggy in the mornings, but the sun came out and showed how nice this park is. Elevated, but level sites with camp hosts that were constantly helping, landscaping, etc. A little confusion when I got there about what site I was supposed to go in, but they found another spot that was just awesome! My dog loved walking on...
I stayed here for a few nights before I headed north. Campground is well laid out and quiet. Used the laundry and showers, no problems. $1.50 wash/ $1.00 dry per load. The Main Gate is tricky if you have a big rig. Luckily I made it through with my 27' with toad. GPS tried to take me into the Doolittle Gate. Wasn't sure of restrictions, so I turned around and found the main gate....
This is a true gem of an RV park. At least Battleship Row is great! (didn't go look at Anchor Cove) Nice sized sites, very friendly people and access to the beach and the bay! Good weather while I was there, except for the freezing temps the last night. There are two restroom/laundry facilities, but even the older one was clean. Great walking path into the woods for the dog. I highly recommend this...
Osprey Cove has lots of shade which is good in the hot months, but very hard to get a good satellite signal depending on your site. Need lots of trees trimmed/removed. Some of the sites are difficult to back into because of the location of trees. The camp hosts were great, always trying to come up with some activities. This is the long term campground for Mayport. It does fill up quickly and spots do not...
The lack of reservation system worked for me, but others coming in and not realizing that they had to go to the Outdoor Recreation building was probably confusing. Several units had to wait for people to leave and if they decided to extend their stay, they were out of luck. The womens shower room was hot because they had the thermostat set to 90. The handicapped shower had no cold water so you would get burned by...
Amy was great getting me in last minute for the 4th of July holiday week. But did have to move a few times due to spots having reservations. Their paper system of reservations seems out of date and probably would be more organized if they didn't give people their space number before they got here. They have a big board that if you check in after hours, you know what space you would go to. Bob...
