Famcamp is right on the lake. Beautiful area. Very quiet. Price was great until September 1st. Monthly rate went to $450.00. Daily rate up to $18.00 per night. Now way overpriced considering they have no sewer hookups. Beach is small and needs some TLC. Like about 30 yards of sand. I would come back. Commissary has everything one needs. No medical services on base.
Plenty of sites. Close to Rapid City. Deer on base. Grass could be cut in fam camp area. It is much easier to walk a pet in short grass vs grass 1 foot tall. New rates are: 1 April -30 June $23.00 - Over flow $14.00 - 1 July - 30 Oct $28.00 - Overflow $16.00 - Tents $8.00
I called Shepard fam camp yesterday and the said the camp will be closed the 2016 season due to bad flooding last year.
One of the cleanest and quietest RV parks I have been at. They just raised the price to $23.00 a night. Only a 30 minute drive to the beach. I will stay again if in the area. The host was very nice. I stayed for three nights.
Denise and Andrew were very nice and very very accommodating. The famcamp was pretty quiet for the most part. Pretty close to a freeway. They only have two washers and two dryers in their laundry facilities. They have a very good supply of informational pamphlets in the office for local attractions. OMG This place is one step up above Walmart. You pay 20 bucks for a secure armed by guards campsite with water and 30 amps/ I guess its good for a one nighter! Good thing we stopped at the BX first for a slice of pizza. The gate guard guard here did not ask abut weapons.
I have been here a couple weeks already. It is very loud with all the commercial leer jets taking off and landing all day long. Seems like weekends are worse! We are 3 to 400 yards from the runway with no noise barrier. Just a chain link fence. We are close to many attractions. We went to Fenway park to take in a game. Leave at least 4 hours before game...
This place is a hidden treasure! You have everything here. Swimming, boating (small craft) horse shoes, cabins, RV parking, movies on Saturday night outside, small store, Quiet, Quiet, off the beaten path for sure. There is a shoppette about 9 miles away with package store. This is a dry county. They have a gym, emergency medical. Great pizza right off the depot! No limit on your stay!

The Famcamp is great for the price. Laundry is only .50 per load. The place to eat is at the bowling alley. They have fixed it up much better than some off base sandwich shops. I would give the bowling alley snack bar 5 stars! The BX and commissary are small. It all correlates with the base population. The base has all new housing since the 80's when I was stationed here. ...
I have been here for a week already amd this is a great place for a Base to see Idaho. The price is going up to $15.00 A DAY STARTING May 1, 2014. The people are great in the office! This is my second time here. My first time was only one night. Does that count? I am very happy with the park. The spaces for the very large rigs are really not big enough. Parking is very tight. No pull thru's. I had to let my rear end over hand over the grass. That is against the rules. Hard to mow the lawn. They have a big rig wash within...
Great Host. Nice RV Park. Great Day room. We arrived about 1630 and the host was right there to greet us. Very nice gentleman, We are here for two nights. Fast food less than a mile away. They have a gas station with decent fuel prices with Diesel. I am in the day room right now. 656am The day room is great. I will post a video of it.
