This is a new park with very large sites and loved being able to tour Cape Cod easily from it. I gave amenities/facilities only a 3 because there are no facilities at the park. Laundry is at the Wings Inn where you check in. Only 2 washer/dryers, but they are free, so can't complain too loudly. We were very pleased with our stay here, in fact we stayed a couple extra days. We had a nice level pull through site with picnic table. Easy access to Concord, Minuteman National Park and Lexington. Close to base shopping facilities. The staff here is very helpful. They give you maps for getting to local attractions, getting to shopping, etc. Laundry facilities are good and less $ than most. Price much more reasonable than the previous park we were at....
This park was recommended to us by several other campers we have met in our travels and they were correct in all they told us. This is a lovely park right on the ocean. We stayed in the treed area right next to the walkway to the beach. An ideal spot if you like walking on the beach everyday as we did. Large, paved sites with picnic table. Excellent brand new park. Large concrete pads include picnic table. Quiet area. The directions on this website are excellent. We didn't use the ones given by the park staff as they looked too confusing. We arrived on Sunday when the office is not open, but there is a park host who had welcome info plus key to unlock the utilities. Wish we could have stayed longer and explored the area. There is no bath house which we didn't need since...
A good stop over passing through New Jersey on our way North. Very few places to camp in Central New Jersey, so this is convenient. Picturesque setting looking out over Willow Pond. Only 30 amp electric and no sewer, but just fine for short stays. Easy access to excellent commissary/BX. Construction on the route inside the base getting to the park, but detour signs are fine until you reach 8th St. Go left onto 8th Street. We missed the turn...
Enjoyed our stay here. So much to see & do in Charleston area and this is easy access to all. Quiet location, large sites, friendly, helpful host. Excellent NEX and commissary close by. The only reason for the 4 in amenities/facilities was our particular site had a significant drainage problem when it rained. Evidently had been that way a long time. Top of the line park!!! Well maintained, clean, great facilities and a friendly, helpful staff. We loved watching the ships come and go. Bonus was finding cable tv and free laundry. Excellent clubhouse with pancake breakfast, ice cream social, entertainment and more. No question, the award they received from S.M.A.R.T is well justified.
Thanks for the alternate route to avoid the construction. It worked well, but missed Kennedy. Street sign very small. I think it is the first stoplight after turning onto Flagler which might help. We had dry camp space one row back from front, so could see the water. Arrived after 3, but camp host very efficient and helpful. Showers and laundry could have been cleaner, but with so much use, would need a full time person to do any better....
