This was our second time here, we really like the long and wide gravel sites in the "new" part of the park. Super easy access for our 38' coach pulling a 20' car trailer.
Great location for visiting the DC area. We were able to fit our 38' coach and car trailer into a pull-thru site (#24) without unhitching the trailer. This actually worked to our advantage since the hookups were a bit forward on the site. Other than that, this is a nice park by most standards and we will return if we are ever in the area again.
Very convenient place for us to stop for the night on our way back to California. Easy access from I-40 and there's a Pilot station and a Camping World at the exit! George and Vicki were great hosts and really went the extra mile to accommodate us. After I emailed checking availability, Vicki told me they were full for the week. The next morning after another guest unexpectedly departed, Vicki called me and let us know...
I concur with the previous raters remarks. The park is operated by a local redevelopment agency and is open to anyone. The rate is still a very reasonable $11.00 per night, but if you stay beyond 30 consecutive days the rate drops to $8.00! Overall a nice experience with a very scenic/enjoyable drive from the I-85.
Stayed here 4 nights while visiting old friends in the area. Great location, but a bit remote from base amenities. Nice layout of parking spots, plenty of space between neighbors. Despite staying 4 days I was unable to reach a real person on the phone, so I used the convenient payment drop-box located at the park entrance. All in all, a pleasant experience. Would stay here again.
Stayed here the last night of our 23-day trip. Plenty of spaces available, we had a nice pull through spot with full hook-ups in a quiet location. Friendly and helpful hosts and staff made sure we found and got properly situated on our site (the park layout can be a bit confusing...). We will definitely stay here again. Traveling in a Motorhome.
Stayed at the off-base Gateway location. Super nice FamCamp, well laid-out facility, the only thing missing was cable TV service (our satellite had quit working earlier in our journeys) but there was plenty of local broadcast TV available on the antenna. There is a nice walking trail adjacent to the park. The FamCamp was only about 25% occupied during the week we were there, so we had plenty of choice of spaces, all pull-throughs. The camp...
Great Famcamp, host Brenda very personable and helpful. We had not visited Fairchild previously and found the Famcamp to be very pleasantly located. We also enjoyed the relative quiet after staying at several Walmarts during our travels. The park has strong wifi, which worked very well for us. The only negative (for us) was that there are no shopping facilities nearby (BX/Commissary/Shopette, etc.) We will definitely stay here again. Traveling in a motorhome....
