Awesome Rec Area, Teesa was wonderful, the tent sites were well laid out, the trails were nicely maintained, the water feature was an absolute joy... oh yeah My singular gripe is absence of somewhere comfy to go sit and get lost in a good book... but hey I can live with that. I will SO go back to this FamCamp, first 5.0 I've given, ever! Ummmmm yeah, ya gotta get a pass at the gate but the office staff...

Spent a week(ish) nested here, it's nice. Facilities are clean and well tended. Not very LGBT friendly, though.

Sitting here at BLORA stables RV sites (really nice place, IMHO the best kept secret on the planet) and I simply MUST remark: I'm on the high side of 50 now, and I never... NEVER... in my life thought I'd see ever the day when going to some considerable effort to not expose people to a horrible flu bug... would be so unappreciated! Gah! Only other comment: mebbe need to update the prices listed here?

Stopped in Dobbins for a few days on my way south for the season, easy to find and easier to get into- kudos! No host but the office is an easy walk and the guys are knowledgeable of the local area, accommodating and very easy to work with. No commissary but the BX is a short walk across the street and will fix you up with vittles on short notice. Yeah I'll do Dobbins again.

Definitely worth a look see if you want remote and quiet. The pads by the river at SeaBee Park are not free, but still a value at $10.00 a night.

So I'm on my way to Mich via the plains with a stopover at ColoSprgs to visit a friend... I pulls in to Turkey Creek Thursday the 21st and absent a host site I go hunting for a people. I find someone at the Ft Carson Fire Station on the other side of the stables and ask after the camping, fire fighter says "camping is down that road, pull in to any of the sites." and at some point adds...

After reading the remarks I was leery about pulling off onto KAFB with a tent... but wow was I surprised. I got a really awesome spot with shade all day and a killer breeze dropping the afternoons well into the comfy range. I had no issues doing my laundry and the machines were fully functional. The shower stall is a bit small and could use a soap basket or something, and a seat big enough to sit on would be...

Twas a mere fluke I ended up at Lake Martinez FamCamp, but I must say this place fits the bill if you're looking for 'isolated'. I pulled in on a Sunday looking to bunk in for a few days, and stayed 2 weeks. The morning 'staff meetings' at the fire pit was a refreshing treat from so many camps where there's not a lot of socializing done. You want some downtime away from the hubbub and bustle? This is...

The FamCamp is a slab of concrete in the back 40 of nowheresville, quiet and isolated with only the sound of Raptors in the sky... but it's one of the better kept FamCamps I've seen anywhere. The host and hostess are warm and friendly and responsive to any request for help and guidance, and they keep the facilities spotless. Well Done!!!

The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, the scenery is awesome and although there's little to do (after the museum, much of the base is restricted), it is a lovely spot for the fully self-contained traveler. For anyone wanting a low impact exercise there's a beautiful walking track right next to the site, 2 laps in the morning and 2 laps in the evening makes a nice comfy 6 miles a day. The open pavilion is a nice respite from so...
